Privacy policy
EnergyCostHub has no user accounts and does not ask for your email address. This page describes what the site does with data today. If that changes, this page will change first.
What we collect
- Reviews. If you submit a review we store the nickname, rating and text you type, plus the time. Reviews are held for moderation before they appear. Please do not put personal information in a review.
- Review reports. If you report a review we store the reason you choose.
- Your IP address. We do not store it in our database. To limit spam we use a one-way hash of it as a temporary counter for submission limits, which expires within an hour.
- Server logs. Our hosting may keep standard request logs (IP address, page, time) for security and troubleshooting.
Cookies and browser storage
- A security cookie (CSRF) is set so forms work and cannot be forged. It is essential and not used to track you.
- Your browser’s local storage remembers your last chosen state in the calculator and whether you dismissed the privacy notice. It never leaves your device.
- We do not currently use advertising or analytics cookies. If we add any, we will ask first and list them here.
Third parties your browser may contact
- jsDelivr serves the chart library on pages with charts, so it can see your IP address and browser details.
- Cloudflare Turnstile may run on the review form to block bots, when enabled. Cloudflare receives data from your browser for that check.
- Retailers such as Amazon receive you if you click a link to them. See the affiliate disclosure. Their own privacy policies apply from that point.
Your choices
You can browse the whole site without submitting anything. To ask us to remove a review you wrote, contact us at info@energycosthub.com with the product and the text of the review.
