Guides
How running costs are calculated, and what the numbers do and do not tell you.
How the numbers work
- Appliance data comes from the official ENERGY STAR product list. If a figure is missing, we leave it blank.
- Electricity prices are statewide residential averages from the U.S. Energy Information Administration. You can enter your own rate instead.
- Cost is the listed annual kWh multiplied by your rate. We do not guess watts or hours of use.
