About EnergyCostHub
EnergyCostHub helps people in the United States understand how much electricity appliances use and what they cost to run. We combine the official ENERGY STAR product list with U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) electricity prices, and we show our working.
What we do
- Show the annual energy use that ENERGY STAR lists for each certified model, with the original figures and their source.
- Turn that into a cost at your state’s average residential price, or at the rate you enter.
- Let you compare two or three models side by side, and flag the rows where they differ.
- Explain the numbers in plain-language guides.
What we do not do
- We do not invent measurements, prices, ratings or availability. When data is missing, the page says so.
- We do not name an overall winner when the data does not support one.
- We do not show retailer prices or discounts, and we do not publish fake or paid reviews.
How the site is funded
Some links to retailers are affiliate links, including as an Amazon Associate. If you buy through them we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This does not change the energy data or the calculations. Details are in the affiliate disclosure.
Who writes the guides
The guides are written by Yevhen Zakharov, engineer in the energy supply field.
Independence
EnergyCostHub is an independent site. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Department of Energy, ENERGY STAR or the EIA. ENERGY STAR is a registered mark of the U.S. EPA.
